Coventry’s Charterhouse will be open to the public on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 August. Also the gardens will be open on Friday 16 and Friday 23 August as part of the National Garden Scheme, with house tours at 1pm on those days.

The Charterhouse is one of Coventry’s most important heritage sites and the centre of Charterhouse Heritage Park. This is a one-of-a-kind living heritage site with something for everyone to enjoy and new, exciting things to discover every time you visit.

To see Coventry’s 14th century Charterhouse, originally the Carthusian Priory of St Anne, you need to venture a short distance out of the City Centre onto the London Road then take the slip road off the dual carriageway to reach this red sandstone building that looks surprisingly modern. A conservatory has been added to this Grade 1 Listed Building, but step inside and you step back into history.

There will be guided tours and story-telling on the Charterhouse’s open days so you can learn all about the history of this fascinating building.

Triumph Brewhouse will be back with their popular pop-up bar and cafe and there will be games and activities in the house and garden.

Local artist Rupert Cordeux, will be exhibiting his beautiful watercolours of Charterhouse and other historic sites in Coventry. Don’t miss this chance to view the paintings where they were created.
