Here’s an opportunity to see the amazing work of Coventry recycling artist Val Hunt, whose creations are all made from recycled junk – especially aluminium drinks cans.
Former teacher Val has been a professional craft maker for almost 30 years. Her work has been shown in exhibitions around the U.K., Denmark, Japan, United Emirates, U.S.A. and toured overseas with the British Council.
Val says that she continues to be amazed at the versatility of creative recycling. Despite her use of manufactured materials much of her inspiration over the years has come from natural forms, botanical, aquatic, animals and birds. This exhibition has been a natural progressive step forward. Encompassing her love of the natural world with her ingenuity and skill at recreating the creatures that are on the edge or gone for ever and hopefully bringing their plight to a bigger audience.

Val whose favourite material to work with is drinks can metal says: “Being a creative recycling artist there is an enormous variety of discarded material just waiting to be reconstructed and given a new identity.”
Intricate constructions and interesting textures are also key elements found in Val’s work – and humour too is an added ingredient whenever possible.
