Following on from yesterday’s story of new activities people can enjoy at the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon, such as behind the scenes tours and masterclasses, here’s a few more opportunities you might like to try.
The Play’s The Thing: Shake up your usual routine and visit The RSC’a free exhibition, The Play’s The Thing. Featuring 100 years of theatrical innovation, this exhibition is co-curated with local community groups, bringing fresh perspectives and exciting new stories. New highlights include the Player Queen costume from David Tennant’s Hamlet (2008) and the powerful spoken-word film Beyond the Borders.
Location: Swan Wing, Royal Shakespeare Company building. Entry: Free, open daily from 12pm. No booking required (except for groups of 10+).

Wear a piece of costume history: Head to the RSC’s Costume Store and dress up for your next event, be it birthdays or fancy dress, with an outfit straight from the RSC stage. With over 60,000 pieces of history to choose from, this environmentally-friendly shopping experience means you’ll be the best dressed at any event.
Location: Costume Hire, The Other Place, open Monday to Friday, 10am - 5pm. By appointment only

A taste of vegan indulgence: If you’re trying out veganism this January, the RSC’s indulgent afternoon tea experience is 100% plant based and features a selection of savoury bites, freshly baked scones, and sweet treats. It can be enjoyed alongside a tea, coffee, or sparkling wine, all while soaking up the views of the River Avon in our Rooftop Restaurant.

A fresh take on Shakespeare and Marlowe: with the RSC’s two-day Spring School and explore their upcoming productions of Hamlet and Edward II with leading academics, actors, and directors. From the stage to the history books, discover new perspectives on these iconic works and the creative processes behind their productions.
Dates: 28–29 March 2025. Cost: £50 (one day), £80 (two days). Location: Royal Shakespeare Theatre and other venues.
