Gospel songs of praise rang out across the Rugby countryside last weekend, when the first Green Pastures outdoor event took place at Hillmorton Locks, Rugby.
it wasn’t quite outdoors, however, a marquee with a stage and an area for seats, tea, coffee and soup was the friendly and welcoming venue for those who went along.
A newly formed band of singers and musicians staged the one and a half hour show of songs, gospel music, prayers, testimonies and talks. There was time also for this Christian group to spend time with anyone who felt in need of some prayer – a unique and caring experience, it has to be said. They also gave out free Bibles to anyone who wanted one.

The Green Pastures Rugby bevent was organised and run by three Warwickshire women - Blessing Airhihen, Liselle Appleby and Beth Tysall who are all experienced in leading worship at Christian churches across Warwickshire.
Blessing said afterwards, “It was enjoyable and we’re hoping that the people who came enjoyed it too. We’re hoping to run more of these events perhaps in different parts of Warwickshire.”
