Five female choreographers from around the world take inspiration from the pioneering women of Birmingham. Each tells a story tackling universal themes through sweeping dramatic movement and intense, intimate moments of darkness and light.
Join BRB on this journey to the moon and back, told with love, compassion and creativity, and grounded in real life experience.
Wubkje Kuindersma, Seeta Patel, Thais Suarez, Arielle Smith and Iratxe Ansa are the five choreographers and you can hear what they have to say about working together on the Birmingham Royal Ballet’s website.
Luna is the final part of Carlos Acosta’s Birmingham trilogy: City of a Thousand Trades, Black Sabbath.
Also involved in this production we have music by Kate Whitley; costume design by Imaan Ashraf; lighting design by Emma Jones and video design by Hayley Egan.
The creation of Luna is possible thanks to a 5-year package of support of the Oak Foundation.Luna has also received grants from: H Steven and P E Wood Trust, The John S Cohen Foundation. The Oakley Charitable Trust and the RPS Drummond Lockyer Fund for Dance.
