The Bridge House Theatre in Warwick are deep into rehearsals for their first professional Christmas offering ‘Nativity! The Musical’ by Debbie Isitt, Nicky Ager and George Dyer. This sensational, feel-good musical will run for 37 shows from 8 to 28 December.

Set in Coventry, ‘Nativity! The Musical' tells the story of a disillusioned primary school teacher, Mr Maddens, who gets caught in a festive white lie. In order to impress an old drama school rival, the pompous Gordon Shakespeare, Mr Maddens accidentally tells the world that Hollywood are coming to make a blockbuster film out of his humble nativity play.

With the help of his exuberant and childlike teaching assistant, Mr Poppy, the children of St Bernadette’s Primary School help to restore Mr Maddens’ Christmas spirit and create the best nativity that’s ever been staged.

60 sparky and enthusiastic young performers, aged 9-15, will join a cast of professional actors to bring this dazzling production to life throughout December.

Director Mike Perry said: “We are excited to be producing Nativity! here at the Bridge House Theatre this Christmas. We really hope this wonderful musical will appeal to families and fans of the movies. With its local cast supporting brilliant professionals, and a fabulous live band, this is a genuine community project with a real connection to the area.
