Kenilworth Castle Joust takes place on 29 and 30 July 2023, 10am – 5pm; and the Knights’ Tournament is on from Saturday 26 to Monday 28 August 2023. Castle and Gardens are open all year round. Kenilworth Castle and Elizabethan Garden, Castle Green, Off Castle Road, Kenilworth, Warwickshire, CV8 1NG
The Joust: Experience the exhilarating spectacle of speed and skill as four legendary knights compete for honour and glory in the Grand Medieval Joust. See lances shatter, feel the thunder of hooves and hear the roar of the crowd as reputations are won and lost. These fearless fighters and their magnificent horses will charge at each other at full speed in an unforgettable display of chivalry and sheer courage. Choose your champion and cheer them on to victory – or console them in defeat.

The Knights' Tournament: Go back in time and get closer to the action as rival knights compete in the ultimate test of strength and skill at Kenilworth Castle's Knights’ Tournament. Swords will clash and the winner will be decided in the Grand Melee finale. Immerse yourself in the medieval encampment and meet characters from the past to hear all about weapon repairs, cooking and day-to-day life.

Kenilworth Castle is one of the country’s most formidable medieval fortresses. It was transformed into a spectacular Elizabethan palace by Robert Dudley in an effort to impress his queen. Visitors can explore the mighty medieval keep, climb up Tudor towers, wander through the unique Elizabethan garden and get hands on with history in the family-friendly exhibition.

Throughout the school holidays there’s lots going on for the children. From 22 July, take your family on a fun adventure with a historical twist. Follow the quest through the grounds of Kenilworth Castle to become the ultimate adventurer. Included with standard admission.
At weekends through the school holidays, kids can get hands-on with history. From junior jousting, have-a-go archery, siege demonstrations, object handling and sword-fighting. There will be different activities each weekend for children to enjoy.
