The Warwick Folk Festival, which took place from the 27 – 30 July, attracted huge numbers and featured a superb line up of folk stars from around the world. Over 30,000 people attended a range of festival events over the 4-day weekend which brought in around £500,000 of business to the local economy.

The Mayor of Warwick, Councillor Oliver Jacques, opened the festival with the traditional ribbon cutting ceremony signalling the start of the festivities.

Around 80 artists performed during the festival along with many fringe events in the town centre. Warwick town and the Square were bursting at the seams with happy crowds. Dick Dixon, Festival Director stated, "We are delighted with the success of the Festival which attracted huge numbers. Everything ran smoothly, and with the sun shining most of the time, it was great to see so many families and visitors with big smiles on their faces soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying a fantastic range of musical acts and events.”
