Tickets are going fast for the Bear Pit Theatre's production of the classic story, The Railway Children, written by Edith Nesbit and adapted for the stage by Mike Kenny. This was originally published in 1905 and is still a favourite tale loved by generation after generation.
The Bear Pit's production is directed by Emily Myerscough and follows Bobbie (played by Ava Rose Carless), Peter (Hak Sandle-Keynes) and Phyllis (Sophie Sparkes) and other characters, in a story shaped by the nearby railway.
A mysterious circumstance forces Bobbie, Peter, Phyllis and their mother (played by Nadine Batchelor Hunt) to swap their privileged London lifestyle for an impoverished existence in rural northern England. As the children adapt to their new environment they find interest in the nearby railway. Their curiosity creates adventure and uncovers many characters that will help shape their journey.
