Ichthyosaur Skull Restored

Following extensive restoration, the museum has welcomed back the Ichthyosaur skull. Thanks to the work carried out by skilled restorers, parts of the creature’s skull that were previously hidden by the rock matrix, have been unveiled! Dippy is free to visit – so make sure you book your tickets now!

DIPP – E VR Launched

The museum launched DIPP – E VR, on 3 June and it’s proving very popular. This ground-breaking technology enables visitors to immerse themselves in the 175-million-year journey of the Ichthyosaur skull and experience the power of interactive storytelling! Family Friendly Art Talks

These family-friendly art talks will bring a different gallery space to life each month, using animated talks and child-friendly language to help younger visitors to engage in a way that is meaningful to them. Led by the museum’s expert learning team, these relaxed, drop-in talks encourage children to share their views and questions about the artworks they are introduced to, supporting them with their own interpretations. Designed for age 3+, but all are welcome. 24 June at 11am, 12pm, 1pm & 2pm. Drop in, free.

Saturday Storytelling.

The Herbert host a selection of artworks and contemporary exhibitions we aim to make welcoming for all. So, each month, we will be reading a 15-minute story about a different global artist. The storytelling will present a perspective on the artist’s experiences and will support children with their own interpretations of artworks. Designed for age 3+, but all are welcome.
